Epson XP-342 Review
There is a decently sized color screen on which you can sneak peek at the pictures from an inserted SD card – you can publish them off, or check new photos straight into the card, too. Tester love that the installer configures your computer system to use the card reader: you can copy files for your PC from an SD card inserted in the MFP.
Search in a little bit more information, and points are slightly much less promising. As a home device, the lack of a fax modem or automated document feeder (ADF) isn’t a lot of a problem, but at this price, it is a pity that there is no automated duplex (double-sided) publishing. At nine web pages, each min (9ppm) in black and 4.5ppm in color, Epson’s specified rates are decidedly moderate, too.
Other Printer: Epson ET-M3170
Being used, the control board proves much less compared to ideal. Its 6.8cm screen is fine, and the disguised switches decrease mess by just illuminating when appropriate. However, they just weren’t constantly dependable. Despite a loud click and responsive comments, Tester found that some keypresses didn’t sign up, which proved annoying in more involved processes such as inputting a cordless password.
The control board itself can be used up and down or turned to a 45-degree angle. Still, Tester found that it had not been particularly secure in the last position: reducing the scanner bed with anything much less compared to delicacy would undoubtedly knock it from work.
In our publish tests, the XP-432 exactly reached Epson’s declared 9.0ppm when providing text. Still, at 2.4ppm, it was some way except the specified speed when posting color video – in justness, our test is more required than the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern used by manufacturers. This isn’t a fast picture printer at greater than 3 mins each 6×4″ picture, either.
Epson’s published user interface is among the best. Here we’re ready to make advanced quality setups.
At reduced resolutions, checks were quick, with an A4 sneak peek or a review at 150 dots each inch (dpi) requiring simply 10 secs. However, also at middling resolutions, points were slower: a 300dpi A4 check took 28 secs, while a picture check at 600dpi needed 35 secs. A solitary copy in black just took 14 secs, but the same job in color took 34 secs.
Up until now average, but the XP-432 retrieves itself instead with high-quality outcomes. Black text was firm and reasonably crisp, while color videos were solid, apart from a quantity of bleed-through on thin paper. Check quality was very high, with accurate colors and great vibrant range: the scanner preserved the complete range of tones in our test pattern. Photocopies were better compared to average, too.
